Galway’s first ever ‘Galway Showcase’ starts today

Galway’s first ‘Galway Showcase’ will take place from today Thursday (April 16 ) and will run until Saturday in a number of key locations throughout the city and Salthill. Showcase is a tourism initiative developed by Galway City Business Association (GCBA ) and supported by Failte Ireland and the Hotels Federation.

From poetry to pottery, from madhatter tea parties to gifts with every purchase, Galway is the place not to be missed for the three days of Galway showcase. Galway’s rich cultural fabric along with the arts, food, hospitality and retail institutions throughout the city will be showcased by hosting a series of programmes of events and displays.

Galway will be a sea of colour with locals and visitors to the city; enjoy the exciting range of foods from all our wonderful restaurants, retailers and hotels. Galway's unmistakable Galwegian flair, friendships and craic means people will be welcomed to the City of the Tribes.

There will be an arts and crafts treasure trail starting from Judy Green pottery, Kirwans Lane, taking in more than 20 different places, from designer hats to Galway's own brewed beer with venues all over the city and ending in Bold Art gallery. There is a €300 hamper as the overall winning prize with other runner up prizes. There are lots of places of interest, so get your walking shoes on and join in the fun for all the family.

Young and old alike are encouraged to visit the city and enjoy its food, street performances, and great hospitality, exploring the incredible range of value on offer.

There will be face painting, balloons and workshops (street musicians, clowns ) along the city streets. Enjoy a free visit to the museum or the Atlantaquaria where all children accompanied by an adult will be admitted free.
