What is your idea of perfect happiness?

Knowing that my family are happy and safe.

Which living person do you most admire?

Barack Obama.

Which is the trait you most deplore in yourself?

I can be a tad impatient - a tad.

What is your greatest extravagance?

Travelling.

What is your favourite journey?

Driving between my home in Beara and my home in north Cork - and all the shops in between.

On what occasion do you lie?

On returning DVDs to Xtravision - every time.

Which living person do you most despise?

Too strong a word for me - it would take me a long time to think of someone.

What or who is the greatest love of your life?

My fiancé Andrew.

When and where were you happiest?

The Bodega circa 2004. I’ve been happy since, but that was a keeper.

Which talent would you most like to have?

Bellydancing - those classes are going to pay for themselves.

What is your current state of mind?

I just had dinner, so I’m good.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?

Love.

If you were to die and come back as a person or a thing, what do you think it would be?

Something that hibernates - a squirrel.

What is your most treasured possession?

A locket with pictures of both my granddads.

What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery?

Lent is proving pretty desperate - I gave up chocolate.

What is your favourite occupation?

Writing.

What is the quality you most like in a man?

A sense of humour.

What is the quality you most like in a woman?

The same!

Who are your favourite writers?

Virginia Woolf made me want to write.

What is your motto?
