Former railway station in Rosscahill achieves top price at auction

Sherry FitzGerald recently held a very successful multi-lot auction at Leopardstown Racecourse, Dublin. With 20 of the 26 lots sold, the company had a strong success rate on the day.

Sherry FitzGerald’s Galway office had the most valuable lot at the auction when a former railway station, Ross Lodge, sold for €433,000. This 1890s property located in Rosscahill, between Moycullen and Oughterard, is a protected structure set on 3.25 acres of lands with a separate guard house. The property was converted to a family home in 1935 and is currently in need of full renovation. The price was more than double the €180,000 guide.

Also in last week’s auction, a one bed end-of-terrace townhouse on Rosary Lane, No 10 Taylor's Hill Court, achieved a price of €249,000, which was €79,000 over the €170,000 guide price.

Both sales reflect the strength of demand for well located properties with scope for further improvement.
