Coláiste an Chreagáin, Mountbellew — a one-stop for all your education needs

Are you finished secondary education and thinking about upskilling? Coláiste an Chreagáin could have a further education and training programme for you.

Coláiste an Chreagáin offers a wide range of further education and training programmes, all of which are QQI approved, and suitable for both career enhancement and preparation for further studies. They are full-time one-year courses, offering a mixture of ‘hands-on’ practical work, academic work, and work experience. Each study area is constantly reviewed and updated to meet the needs of the local community and economy and maintain strong links with local employers and third level institutions. The college enjoys an excellent reputation of high-quality courses that lead to employment or higher education. The dedicated staff strive to provide a positive and fulfilling educational experience by developing a student focused environment which cultivates confidence and self-belief.

The programmes equip students to enter the workplace after completion, if they choose to do so, or offer those who are unsure of their subject area the opportunity to try out a course before committing to taking a four-year degree. There are excellent and growing opportunities to use a PLC to gain entry to universities and institutes of technology. If applying to the CAO the following year, students can ask to be considered on their PLC results rather than their Leaving Cert. This can be helpful for students who excel in a certain area but may not achieve the necessary CAO points.
