Former professional rugby player and adventurer Damian Browne will deliver the keynote presentation at the 2019 BIG Leaders Summit in Galway on September 10.
Browne will share his insights into how resilience, focus and goal-setting can turn the seemingly impossible into possible at the full-day event organised by Galway Executive Skillnet.
Now in its second year, the BIG (Based in Galway ) Leaders’ Summit is an event that aims to develop the next generation of managers and leaders to ensure future success in this era of unprecedented change.
Taking place on Tuesday September 10 in The Ardilaun hotel, the summit will give Galwegians the opportunity to learn from experts about the latest trends, strategic issues and key success factors for businesses in Galway, now and in the future.
Browne is one of a mix of keynote addresses that will take place, in addition to panel discussions, and opportunities for both one-to-one discussion with an expert presenter, and also networking with other attendees.
Key speakers also include Paul Healy, chief executive of Skillnet Ireland; Sinead Heneghan, CEO of the Irish Institute of Training and Development (IITD ); Petal Pilley, CEO and artistic director of the award-winning Blue Teapot Theatre; and Felim McDonnell, CEO of ICE Group, which recently introduced the groundbreaking four-day week.
BIG Leaders has been created by Galway Executive Skillnet, a local training network for small, medium and large businesses in Galway city and county.
As has been widely reported, Galway is recognised as “the place to live in Ireland”. However, Galway Executive Skillnet network manager Carl Blake, says “Galwegians now need to ensure Galway is also the place to work in Ireland.”
“To achieve this aim we need strong successful businesses, with strong successful teams, managers and leaders,” said Blake. “This will provide the perfect forum for creating synergies, savings and success.”
This event is open to all businesses from self-employed to SMEs to multinationals.
The BIG Leaders Summit will start from 9.30am, finishing at 4pm with lunch included. Places are limited.
