BRANAR TÉATAR Do Pháistí acclaimed show for children, How To Catch A Star, has been selected for the IPAY International Showcase, which takes place in January 2020 in Philadelphia.
The Galway company is one of 15 companies from around the world, chosen, from to take part in the 2020 Showcase. The annual showcase is attended by c400 programmers and curators from festivals and venues across North America, Canada, Australia, Asia, and Europe.
It is run by the US based International Performing Arts for Youth, an organisation which seeks to create professional and education opportunities for artists, agents, and presenters to engage around support of meaningful performing arts experiences for young audiences.
Based on the book by Irish author Oliver Jeffers, How To Catch A Star premiered at the Galway International Arts Festival in 2017 and has since been performed to more than 14,000 people at the 2018 Baboró Children’s Festival; the Southbank Centre, London; Belfast Children’s Festival; and the Ark Cultural Centre for Children in Dublin.
How To Catch A Star is for audiences aged four+ and features puppetry by Galway performers Grace Kiely and Neasa Ní Chuanaigh. It is directed by Marc MacLochlainn, with puppets created by Suse Reibish, music by Colm Mac Con Iomaire, and design by Maeve Clancy.
