ENJOY AN afternoon tea that Mr Carson would be proud of at the Pálás cinema for the opening weekend of the highly-anticipated Downton Abbey movie.
Audiences will be served a selection of sandwiches using local ingredients; a selection of cakes and scones with clotted cream and jam; and all accompanied with unlimited tea or coffee and a complimentary glass of prosecco. The price is €35 per person and includes cinema ticket to Downton Abbey.
Afternoon tea will be served from Friday September 13 to Sunday 15, between 12 noon and 5pm. Booking is essential through the Pálás's Merrow restaurant on 091 - 394076.
Downton Abbey and Silver Screen screenings
Every Friday at 10.30am, the Pálás has screenings of new releases for the retired film fan, with tickets at the reduced price of €6, and which include complimentary tea and coffee before the film. The snug area of Pálás bar is free following the film for chats, scones, tea and coffee.
Upcoming Silver Screen films are Apollo 11 (September 6 ), Downton Abbey (September 13 ), and Irish made comedy-horror Extraordinary (September 20 ).
