Three rounds done and dusted and it is only Jürgen Klopp's Liverpool that still maintains a 100 per cent record in the Premier League after a 3-1 victory over Arsenal at Anfield on Saturday evening.
Elsewhere Frank Lampard got his first victory as the Blues' head man with a 3-2 success over Norwich City, Crystal Palace finally defeated Man United in the Premier League era, and Newcastle earned a surprise three points at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. But of course, here at Advertiser Towers I know what you really want is to find out who is in the top three of the Advertiser Tribal League in association with Monroe's Tavern.
1 Carlos Tighe - Huddersfield Townys - 218
We have a new leader in the Tribal League - the Metropolitans, Huddersfield Townys are top of the pile and it is all down to Carols Tighe's men phenomenal fire power. Mohamed Salah, Teemu Pukkia, and Raheem Sterling found the back of the net with Kevin De Bruyne, Anthony Martial, and Callum Wilson providing assists. An area which will be a cause of concern for Tighe is his defensive line which struggled at the weekend but were bailed out by the attacking men. Sort out the problems at the back and Huddersfield Townys' black and red ribbons will be draped around the league trophy come May.
2 Ciaran Montague - Hanging By a Fred - 217
One place and one point back is Ciaran Montague and Hanging By a Fred. The trio of Teemu Pukki, Mohamed Salah, and Raheem Sterling are the three reasons why Montague's charges' hopes are not hanging by a thread as they moved into second spot. Unfortunately, like the league leaders the defensive side of play is a problem for Hanging By a Fred with no clean sheet. Marcus Rashford's penalty miss will be irritating for Montague but for now, the players, management, and fans should enjoy the lofty heights of the top three.
3 Niall McGuinness - Who Divocks Origi? - 216
Who Divocks Origi? is a question I am unable to answer but I can tell you that they are in third place in the Tribal League. And again, attack is the order of the day for Niall McGuinness with captain Raheem Sterling, Mohamed Salah, and Teemu Pukki getting on the scoresheet. Danny Ings chipped in with an assist and Willy Boly made two crucial blocks to earn The Os the points to take them up into the top three. Can they make the leap to the top of the table? Find out next week.
Top tips
But those results are in the past and Saturday is a new round so who should you select to earn precious Fantasy points for the Advertiser Tribal League in association with Monroe's Tavern?
Ashley Barnes (Burnley ) v Liverpool
He might not be the first striker to come to mind when sending out a side at the weekend but Burnley's frontman always starts the season fast and the 2019/2020 term is no different. Barnes, a former Austrian U20 international, has managed to trouble the scorekeepers four times in three games already and at Turf Moor on Saturday evening, I believe he will do so again against league leaders Liverpool. The Reds have been winning games without playing well, however, it will be of huge concern for Jürgen Kloop that his backline is leakier than a sieve at present, allowing opposition teams numerous chances as well conceding goals. Expect Barnes and Burnley to expose this frailty in Lancashire.
Tammy Abraham (Chelsea ) v Sheffield United
Has the big number nine arrived? In my opinion, the answer is yes. Abraham got his Chelsea career up and running on Saturday as he bagged himself a brace against Norwich City, repaying the faith invested in him by Frank Lampard. His performances to date have been good in blue but as we know, every striker is judged on how many times he puts the ball in the net. On Saturday afternoon, Chelsea host Sheffield United at Stamford Bridge and although the Blades have got off to a cracking start in their Premier League journey, I believe the trip to west London will be a reality check for Chris Wilder's men. Chelsea will win comfortably with Abraham on the score sheet.
Sergio Agüero (Man City ) v Brighton
Death, taxes, and Sergio Agüero scoring goals are the only things in life that can be guaranteed. The Argentine hitman has four successes registered to his name so far this term and with Gabriel Jesus expected to be out until September 14 with a hamstring injury, Fantasy managers can relax with the knowledge that Pep Guardiola will not be benching Man City's number 10. On Saturday, the champions will take on Brighton at Eastlands. The Seagulls had a bright start to the new season before being ambushed by Southampton at the Amex Stadium last weekend. I feel the pain will only continue this Saturday with Man City racking up a big score. Make Agüero your captain for double the points.
