CAD É an scéal? is the Irish for 'What's the story?'. It is also the title of an event taking place on Culture Night exploring common words and phrases and their sometimes surprisingly boozy origins.
Cad É An Scéal? takes place on Friday September 20 at 7pm in The Skeff, Eyre Square, and there will be liquid refreshment from The Skeff’s own aptly 'Scéal Ale' and from Pearse Irish Whiskey. Pearse global ambassador Conor Ryan will lead the talk and tasting, and explore the history behind commonly used terms that you may not have known were fuelled by libation.
