WITH EIGHT weeks still to go before its opening night, it already looks like another bumper year for the Vodafone Comedy Carnival Galway as the 2019 laugh fest has already begun to sell out its biggest shows.
The huge demand for John Bishop’s Leisureland appearances means tickets for all three nights in October are sold out. Musical virtuoso Bill Bailey will tackle politics, philosophy, and the pursuit of happiness in his two festival shows. Saturday October 26 is about to sell out, so grab those tickets quickly and book that babysitter now. Today FM stalwarts Dermot & Dave have sold out their Friday October 25 show, while a few tickets remain for Thursday 24 - but not for long.

Making a debut appearance at the festival this year is the unlikely combination of bingo and rave that is Bingo Loco. This is not a night for your granny. It is a full on party that brings bingo in a whole new direction. Get ready to win a holiday abroad or a garden shed while dancing to your favourite disco tunes! The Friday 25 show in the Galmont Hotel Ballroom has sold out, but some tickets remain for the Thursday 24 show. Do not delay in getting your hands on them.
A magical mystery tour
The festival organisers are preparing a magical mystery tour of Connemara establishments that will include a wild and wacky feast of comedy. This is a pub crawl where you do not have to use your legs, the laughs are provided, and you will be delivered back to where you started. This is the Wild Atlantic Wahey Mystery Tour. The Saturday October 26 trip is already sold out, but if you hurry, you might get tickets for the Sunday 27 outing.
Last but not least in the unavailable stakes is Rich Hall, whose solo show, Rich Hall’s Hoedown in the Róisín Dubh is now completely sold out. Fans of the funniest curmudgeon on the planet need not despair though as Rich plays a number of mixed bills during the festival including Friday 25 and Sunday 27 in the Comedy Village, Eyre Square, and he is also a guest of the Stephen Frost Improv All Stars on Saturday afternoon in Róisín Dubh.
