Galway Technical Institute is the largest college of further education and training in the west of Ireland. It is now accepting applications for courses commencing in September. Through its applied learning approach, GTI offers learners the opportunity to gain valuable experience in the workplace as well as providing the knowledge and skills to progress to further and third level education.
Among the many new courses on offer for September are auctioneering and estate agency administration, international trade, interior design, and upholstery and restoration skills.
GTI is continuing to expand by offering many new courses which will provide direct career opportunities for learners. Skills for the economy is a particular focus at GTI and courses are tailored towards the jobs market. At GTI you will gain valuable knowledge, skills, and experience that will help you on your career path and into employment. GTI has established work placement links with a number of partner colleges in Europe through its ongoing successful Erasmus Plus projects. Partner countries include Portugal, Poland, Turkey, Spain, France, Finland, and Scotland. These work placements are fully funded by the EU and offer students an opportunity to develop their cultural and educational expertise while also completing a work placement in their vocational area. Last year, GTI sent approximately 90 learners to Europe as part of GTI’s successful Erasmus Plus initiative.
Courses at GTI can provide a direct route to third level with approximately 60 per cent of students being offered a place in colleges including NUIG, GMIT, AIT, LIT, and IT Sligo. GTI welcomes applications from both school leavers and mature learners who wish to retrain or upskill.
