On Friday 20th September at 7 pm,The Skeff invites you to join us in an exploration of common words and phrases and where their boozy origins come from. The title of the event “Cad é an scéal” translates from Irish as “What’s the story?” and they will have liquid refreshment from The Skeff’s own aptly titled “Scéal Ale” and also from Pearse Irish Whiskey.
Pearse Global Ambassador Conor Ryan will lead the talk and tasting and they will explore the history behind commonly used terms that you may not have known were fuelled by libation!
This event is part of ‘Culture Night 2019’ where venues and public spaces across the island of Ireland open their doors to host a programme of free late-night entertainment, as part of an all-island celebration of arts, heritage and culture.
This is a free event but booking must be made through event brite to secure your place.
