Gardai in the city are seeking help in tracking a group of men who seemed to be planning an armed robbery in the city this week.
Early on Monday July 29 suspicious activity was observed in the Knocknacarra area. One man was seen wearing a balaclava in the Rusheen Woods estate.
He was disturbed outside a house in the estate and fled the scene with three other men carrying baseball bats.
They left the area in a dark coloured older model Ford Focus.
Anyone who saw these males or who has information on this incident is asked to contact Garda Cait Ni Chualain of Salthill Garda Station at (091 ) 514720.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, property was stolen from a car parked at Cross Street in the city on Thursday July 25 at 3.30am. The owner left the car, a grey Mondeo, unattended for a short period of time with the window open. Cash and other property was stolen. Any witnesses to this incident are asked to contact Garda Kevin Molyneaux at (091 ) 538000.
At half past midnight on Friday July 26 a taxi driver parked his taxi, a silver Peugeot Partner, outside a house in Scellig Ard on the Headford Road. He locked the taxi and went to visit a friend for half an hour. On his return, the window was broken and cash had been taken from the taxi. Any resident in Sceilg Ard, or anyone in the area at the time who witnessed any suspicious activity, is asked to contact Garda John O’Brien at (091 ) 538000.
In the early hours of Monday morning (July 29 ) at Monalee Manor in Knocknacarra, a silver VW caddy was broken into and a black Magnum torch was taken. This happened just before 4am. Anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area is asked to contact Galway or Sathill Gardai at (091 ) 514720.
