Cheevers calls for footpaths between Doughiska/Roscam and Galway Clinic

Footpaths must be constructed from both the Doughiska and Roscam junctions out towards the Galway Clinic as part of the new junction at the clinic which will replace the Martin Roundabout.

This is the view of Fianna Fáil Galway City East councillor Alan Cheevers, who is calling on the Galway City Council to look at building footpaths in the area.

“It would be important to see this as part of the overall plan with a pedestrian crossing from new junction to clinic,” he said. “This is something residents have been be asking for years.”

He pointed out that many of those working in the clinic live in Roscam and “need a safer environment to walk to work”. Cllr Cheevers also met a representative from City Hall’s traffic and infrastructure department recently to outline his proposal.
