Cellists wanted for exhibition

Have your photo taken for a show in new Galway festival, to be held in 2020

GALWAY CELLISTS are being sought to take part in what will be a photographic exhibition that will run in April 2020 as part of Music For Galway new Cellissimo festival, celebrating all things cello.

For the festival, a 'Galway Cello' has been crafted from locally sourced materials by German luthier Kuros Torkzadeh, with the design based on the Gore-Booth Stradivarius cello associated with Lisadell House, Sligo.

Amateur and professional Galway cellists will have the chance to try the instrument. Cellists who are over 18 and play the cello in an orchestra, ensemble, take lessons, or simply play for pleasure, and who would like to be photographed playing the newly crafted cello, should contact Rob D’Eath via [email protected] by Friday July 19, with Galway Cellist in the subject line.

These photographic prints will be presented as part of an exhibition, curated by Rob D’Eath, and which will be on display in the 126 Artist-Run Gallery, St Bridget’s Place.
