Galway's Rayleen Kenny gets lead role in Wrath

Short film to be shaown as part of 2019 Galway Film Fleadh

RAYLEEN KENNY, a 13-year-old who is a second year pupil at Coláiste Éinde, will take the lead role in Wrath, a Screen Ireland and Bear Print Media short film, which premieres on Sunday July 13 at the Town Hall Theatre.

At the brink of womanhood and plagued with foreboding dreams, Maria must confront the mistrust of her family as a strange epidemic sweeps the nation. Rayleen plays the part of Maria. The film was written and directed by Suri Grennell, it was filmed on location in Straide and Ballyhaunis, County Mayo.

Rayleen had her first break as a featured extra in Ripper Street, appearing in three episodes. She also featured in Stay, alongside Aidan Quinn, which was filmed in Connemara. Other appearances include Republic Of Telly and The Mario Rosenstock Show. She attends Trading Faces stage and film school.
