BAGATELLE, THE Irish band who created one of the most famous songs in the nation's rock catalogue, 'Summer In Dublin', play the Lough Rea Hotel and Spa on Thursday July 4.
Based around songwriter Liam Reilly, the band formed in 1978 and scored an Irish No 1 in 1980 with ‘Summer In Dublin’. A further Irish No 1 was achieved with 'Second Violin', which also charted in Britain. in total, Bagatelle enjoyed six No 1s, while their album sales reached multi platinum status. They have also toured across the US, China, Saudi Arabia, and Europe, and over the years shared stages with Bob Marley, Van Morrison, Thin Lizzy, John Denver, U2, and Jose Feliciano.
Three years ago they completed their 'Final Year Tour', but the retirement only lasted three months. Since then they have notched up many 'sold out' gigs along the way.
