An eveing with two of Galway's most original songwriters

MAIJA SOFIA, and A Lilac Decline, two Galway indie singer-songwriters, play the next Eclectics night at The Black Gate Cultural Centre, St Francis Street, on Wednesday July 3 at 9pm.

County Galway born, Dublin based, Maija Sofia has performed at Other Voices, Electric Picnic, and the London Antifolk festival, and supported Joan As Police Woman and Stella Donnelly. A Lilac Decline is the musical pseudonym of visual artist Cecilia Danell. Her debut album The Mountain Rages (Rusted Rail, 2017 ) was described by The Galway Advertiser as "gentle, lyrical, yet intensely personal, folk influenced songs" which "thematically moves from vulnerability to yearning, to faltering hope.”
