Hoare calls for city street signs to be cleaned

'As the tourist season has commenced, it is important the signs are readable'

Many traffic, road, and street signs throughout the city are in a dirty and grimy condition, making them unreadable and creating difficulties for motorists and particularly for visitors and tourists who are "not familiar with the city".

This is the view of newly elected Fine Gael Galway City Central councillor, Eddie Hoare, who has requested the Galway City Council's roads section to clean the signs. "As the tourist season has commenced in Galway," said Cllr Hoare, "it is important that the road/street signs are readable."
