Luminosa to give Galway premiere of Bill Whelan's Inishlacken

Concert to be part of Soundings II: A New Context For Rare Music event

GALWAY CATHEDRAL will be the venue for the very first performance in this city of Inishlacken, a work by Riverdance composer Bill Whelan. It will be performed by Galway's new orchestra, Luminosa.

The concert, entitled Soundings II: A New Context For Rare Music, takes place on Wednesday June 19. The performance of Inishlacken will feature soloists Lynda O’Connor and Bogdan Sofei on violins. The programme also includes Samuel Barber’s Adagio for Strings and Elgar’s String Serenade.
