A father's long, strange, shopping trip

Pat Kinevane brings new show, Before, to the Town Hall Theatre

PAT KINEVANE, described as "a truly remarkable performer" by The Arts Review, brings his new show, Before, set in Clery’s of Dublin, on the very day the iconic department store shut down for good, to the Town Hall Theatre.

Inside Clery’s is Pontius, who is trying to choose a gift for the estranged daughter he has not seen for 20 years. This father’s journey will be beautiful and strange, from the isolation of his midlands home, to the madness of O’Connell Street.

The show has been described by The Sunday Times as an "achingly touching gem" and by the Sunday Business Post as "a singular pleasure". The Irish Times said Kinevane’s performance "works like a spell... a real showstopper".

Before, written and performed by Pat Kinevane, and directed by Jim Culleton, with music by Denis Clohessy, and presented by Fishamble, will be in the Town Hall Theatre on Thursday June 27 at 8pm. Tickets are available from 091 - 569777 or www.tht.ie The play is not suitable for those aged under 14.
