Well known and popular Salthill lady, Fionnula Thornton, will be hosting a fundraising concert and disco this Thursday in the Oslo Bar and Microbrewery, Salthill.
Performers include Matt Keane, Johnny Ringo McDonagh, Jared AlMajar (aka Gerry Mullholland ), Mary and Greg Cotter, Bernie O’Mahony, Martin Dunne, Tony Kelly, Ann Kirrane, Deirbhile Ni Bhrolchain, Moloney Family, Liam Lewis, Gerry Hanley, Pat Eade, Dave Larkin, and Peter Brown as well as DJ Mike Larkin for the disco.
Fionnula has suffered from multiple sclerosis for many years and an article appeared in this paper only last year featuring her campaign for legalisation of CBD oil on a medical basis. As her MS is progressing she now needs additional smart motorised mobility aid in her home. The equipment, which is to be sourced in Belgium, is very expensive but will make her life much more manageable and tolerable.
In order to raise some funds towards the equipment, a concert will be held this Saturday, and kicks off at 7.30pm.
Tickets cost €20 and will be available at the door on the night. Tickets can also be purchased in advance from Mary Gleeson by calling 087 917 4245. If you cannot make the concert but would still like to make a donation contact Mary.
