Crowds flock to launch of An Fuarán, Oranmore

It was a much anticipated wait for would-be purchasers of Galway’s newest and much sought after development, An Fuarán, Oranmore, but one that proved worth the wait. Located in Oranmore village, An Fuarán is a new development of A-rated two, three, and four bedroom homes. Brought to market by leading developer Ardstone Homes, this innovative development brings a new concept of living to the west of Ireland and the launch certainly lived up to this expectation.

Oranmore was a hive of activity throughout the weekend with a steady flow of people descending on the estate from early each morning until late afternoon. Hundreds of people visited the showhouses on view, included the three bed semidetached house, Culfin, and the impressive four bed detached home, the Corrib, taking in the stylish kitchens, either contemporary or hand-painted, the spacious living areas, and the immaculately finished en suites with modern sanitary ware.

Selling agent Fergal Leonard MIPAV of DNG Maxwell Heaslip & Leonard said: “We knew that interest was strong in this development, but even we were amazed by the volume of people who walked through the showhouses. A member of staff had to man each doorway to limit the number of people entering the showhouses at any one time.”

So what makes An Fuarán so special, and why such high demand for these homes? “A fantastic location and quality spacious homes,” according to Leonard were key to the success of this launch. “The level of finish to the showhouses, the décor and the level of finish to the grounds with roadways, pathways, and extensive landscaping all in place for the launch, all displayed the level of quality brought to this development by developers Ardstone Homes," he added. "The confidence a buyer gets when they walk onto a new homes scheme to see this level of details is massive and it was reflected in sales on the day.”

The houses in An Fuarán have a host of superior features including either a modern kitchen or an Irish hand painted Shaker-style kitchen with stone-effect worktops as standard with sunken sinks. Every home at An Fuarán will feature an innovative air to water heat pump, with zone controls, providing energy efficient central heating and constant hot water. The homes feature high levels of insulation throughout along with a sophisticated ventilation system that ensures excellent levels of humidity and moisture control.

When the sales office on site had closed on Saturday evening, selling agents DNG Maxwell Heaslip & Leonard and Tom Brett auctioneers confirmed that all three bed semi-detached homes, four bed semidetached homes, and four bed detached homes released as part of phase 1 had been sold. Fergal Leonard of DNG said: “We are very conscious that this was both a nerve-wracking and exciting day for a lot of buyers, and due to such overwhelming levels of demand some buyers were very disappointed not to secure the home they had hoped for. It was a long day and we would sincerely like to thank people for their patience.”

Limited availability of three bed end-terrace and three bed mid-terrace houses remains in phase 1, with prices from €320,000.
