EARLIER THIS year, Engage Art Studios moved from its long time premises at the Cathedral Buildings, Middle Street, to its new facility in Churchfields, Salthill, and this weekend sees the official opening.
Engage is inviting the public the opening of its Churchfields premises this Saturday [May 25], with open studios and tours of the facility (1pm to 4.30pm ) where the public will see the artists at work and gain an insight in to the creative process. There will be free art demonstrations for all ages in the workspace (1pm, 2.30pm, 3.45pm ).
The official opening of the studio's new gallery will be at 5pm. The inaugural exhibition is Where You Are Lost, We Are Sídhe, featuring work by Monique Blom, Zara Lyness, Ilaria Pellizzaro Anushiya Sundaralingam, and Ruby Wallis. It will explore ideas of land art, traditionally-feminine creative crafts, and contemporary art practise. There will also be a performance by Zara Lyness at 5.30pm.
