The public lighting in the Ard Alainn and Leas Na Coille estates in Ballybane is being upgraded and will be fully operational this weekend.
Independent councillor Terry O’Flaherty received complaints regarding the lack of public lighting from residents in both estates. She said in Leas na Coille “at least 12 of the poles fitted with bulbs are not working”.
Following her representations to both the Galway City Council and the ESB, she has now been informed that the necessary upgrading work is taking place.
