All the world can now see Galway’s problem with blocked drains after one resident of the Sean Mulvoy Road posted footage on YouTube following a rain shower last Friday.
This is the view of Green councillor Niall Ó Brolcháin who is calling on the Galway City Council to act immediately to unblock drains across the city. He wants to see the council adopt a systematic approach to the clearance of storm drains to ensure they are dealt with on a regular basis.
According to Cllr Ó Brolcháin, the video footage “clearly shows the danger caused by blocked storm drains. This leads to an immediate build up of surface water causing a hazard to both pedestrians and motorists”. It can seen on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P3BAnA1kWOM
