Robert Plant to play Galway International Arts Festival

Former Led Zeppelin front-man to bring new band, Saving Grace, to St Nicholas' Collegiate Church

ROBERT PLANT, the lead singer of Led Zeppelin, the rock god, who has since become a visionary solo artist, will play the Galway International Arts Festival this summer.

Plant is bringing his acoustic band, Saving Grace, to St Nicholas' Collegiate Church on Thursday July 18. Saving Grace performed publicly for the first time earlier this year and since then, the band has played for small audiences at theatres and festivals around Britain. Their sound is bluesy and folk-inspired (as was Zeppelin's ).

Joining Plant in Saving Grace will be Suzi Dian (vocals ), Oli Jefferson (percussion ), Tony Kelsey (mandolin, baritone, and acoustic guitars ), and Matt Worley (banjo, acoustic, and baritone guitars, and cuatro ).

Support is from The 4 of Us. Tickets are €34.50 and go on sale at 9am on Friday May 3 on www.giaf.ie Ticket sales are limited to a maximum of four tickets per person.
