If you go down to Merlin Woods, the fairy village is guaranteed to enchant

The annual Enchanted Merlin Fairy Walk takes place on Saturday at 2pm organised by the Friends of Merlin Woods,

Children will be delighted to explore the fairy villages for one day only as the fairies allow the Friends to enter their world and see the world they inhabit.

Everyone will have a chance to meet Cleite the fairy who will talk about the life of a fairy and all the mischief she gets into. She will tell visitors about nature and how the fairies live in harmony with the woods. Cleite will introduce The Interspecies Treaty Book by The Merlin Collective which shows everyone how to respect and love the natural world, making a pact to look after it together. The book can be signed on the day, and in addition there will be face-painting, stories and songs.

The Enchanted Merlin Fairy Walk leaves from Merlin Woods community garden at 2pm sharp which is just past the playground in Doughiska. Everyone is encouraged to dress up as fairies, elves, superheroes or woodland creatures.

There is a suggested donation of €5 per child and no more than €15 euro per family to cover costs. Adults are free.

The Friends of Merlin Woods asks everyone to wear suitable footwear as paths can be uneven in places. Paths are accessible to buggies.
