More than 70 HR professionals and business owners from local SMEs to large multinationals attended the recent employment law breakfast briefing hosted by Collins McNicholas Recruitment & HR Services Group.
The event, held at the Clayton Hotel Galway, is hosted each year for HR professionals and business owners to assist them in addressing employment law issues, from employment equality and terms and conditions through to termination of employment and employee rights, as well as information on new and amended regulations.
Collins McNicholas was the main sponsor, and the guest speaker was Alastair Purdy from Purdy & Co Solicitors in Galway.
Alastair Purdy is widely published in the area of employment law and is recognised as one of Ireland's leading practitioners in this field.
The event was attended by 70 professionals from a variety of industry sectors across the western region.
Speaking at the event, Michelle Murphy, director at Collins McNicholas, said the West of Ireland was home to many key international clients, as well as indigenous companies, who had exciting and ambitious plans for 2019, but it was important for companies to keep in tune with law.
"With progress comes a need for business owners and HR professionals to be kept up to date and in tune with changes in employment legislation. I'm delighted to see this annual employment law event has now become a key date in our clients' calendars."
