Your favourite movies, but an hour long and full of jokes

Dreamgun: Film Reads to perform Jurassic Park in the Town Hall Theatre

IMAGINE YOUR favourite film, boiled down to an hour, and stuffed full of jokes and wholly unrehearsed takes. This is what Dreamgun do, and they are about to do it in the Town Hall Theatre.

Dreamgun are a comedy collective who take a well known film script and turn it into an hour long parody, performed unrehearsed by a group of actors and comedians. For their Galway show, they will read Steven Spielberg's 1993 classic Jurassic Park on Saturday April 27 at 8pm.

Dreamgun: Film Reads have been delighting and exasperating cinephiles in equal measure, and they have attracted high praise from leading Irish comics. Dara Ó Briain has called them "hilarious", while David O'Doherty declared: "I love Dreamgun so blooming much." The Irish Times declared them, "consistently sharp, rapid-fire funny writing, crackling performances”.

Dreamgun was founded in 2014 by Stephen Colfer, Gavin Drea, Heber Hanly, and James McDonnell. They made their Edinburgh Fringe debut in 2015 with the sketch comedy show, Chaos Theory. They have brought Dreamgun: Film Reads to the Edinburgh, Adelaide, and Dublin fringe festivals, Cat Laughs, Body & Soul, and the Vodafone Comedy Festival.
