Galway City is set to host a new international medical technology conference later this year, with MedTech West Summit taking place at the Galmont Hotel & Spa this September.
The event promises to be a content-driven conference that examines the key operational challenges and opportunities facing the medtech sector in Ireland and beyond.
Featuring international speakers from many of the world’s leading medtech organisations, MedTech West Summit will also offer invaluable networking opportunities for speakers, delegates and partners.
With the medtech sector in Ireland going from strength to strength, MedTech West co-founder Stuart Dempsey believes the event offers an ideal opportunity for medtech stakeholders to discuss the key challenges facing the sector.
“The Irish medtech sector continues to grow at a very steady rate, with over 30,000 people now employed and more than 300 medtech companies based in Ireland. MedTech West is a medical technology conference that will welcome some of the leading personalities within global medtech to attend and speak at the event.
“We’ll be covering a number of really important topics at the conference including the challenges of achieving transformational change as well as discussing the opportunities facing the start-up ecosystem here in Ireland.”
With Galway’s continued position as the centre of Irish medtech, Mr Dempsey adds that the location of the conference was always set for the west.
“There was no debate regarding where to hold the conference. Galway is recognised globally as a leading medtech hub with some of the most important multinational and indigenous companies based here. We are working with our partners to establish MedTech West Summit as an annual go-to event for international medtech leaders.”
