A local election candidate has called on the Galway City Council to outline its traffic management plans for Roscam and Doughiska, and for a review of traffic light interchange times as a “way to get traffic moving quicker”.
Fianna Fáil Galway City East candidate, Alan Cheevers, has called on City Hall to “clarify” its traffic management plans for the two areas. “It is a major issue for residents in Roscam, where gridlock, and journey times of up to one hour to get to Parkmore in the morning are common,” he said. He is also calling on CIE to look at alternative bus routes in Roscam for journeys to Parkmore and Oranmore.
Mr Cheevers will also host a public meeting on this issue, on Thursday April 25 at 8pm, and which will be attend by Dep Éamon Ó Cuív. He has also requested an official from Galway City Council’s traffic department to attend.
