JOHN LYNN, "the rising star of Irish comedy," according to The Sunday Times, and a man simply declared “brilliant” by The Irish Times, headlines next week's Comedy KARLnival at the Róisín Dubh.
John Lynn first caught the stand-up bug after a visit to a comedy club in Dublin. Within eight months of his first gig, he appeared on RTE’s The Liffey Laughs - an unheard of feat for a newcomer. He has since toured with Tom Stade and PJ Gallagher, and starred alongside Tommy Tiernan in the Third Policeman’s Ball. He has performed at the prestigious invite only Montreal Just for Laughs Comedy Festival, and toured South Africa, America, Europe, and the Middle East.
Also on the bill is Nigerian-born, Irish citizen, Emman Idama, who Chortle.co.uk called "charming and energetic…panache and charm to spare”, and Drogheda's Tomie James, who Broadway Baby has called him "particularly passionate, interesting, funny”.
The show is on Tuesday April 9 at 8pm. Regular MC Karl Spain is on tour with Kevin Bridges. The guest MC for this week will be Steve Bennett. Tickets are €6 from the Róisín Dubh; www.roisindubh.net; OMG@Zhivago, Shop Street; or €8 at door.
