What is sustainable living? Creative Ireland are funding a series of free interactive workshops and talks taking place in Galway City Museum and Westside Library from 23 March to 11 May 2019.
The aim of the series is to give participants practical tips on how to adopt a more sustainable model of living and to encourage them to start taking small steps to Refuse, Rethink, Reduce, Reuse, Repair, Recycle and Rot. By simply applying these 7 R’s to your everyday life you are supporting a more sustainable lifestyle which also helps to protect the environment!
Today’s Sustainable Living Series event is a ‘Sewing Workshop with Mary’ taking place from 1:30pm to 4:30pm at Galway City Museum.
Mary will teach the very basics of sewing, a key skill for those of you looking to live sustainable lives. Mary will demonstrate the simplicity of repairing your own clothes and teach participants how to sew hems, seems, replace zips and much more.
If you cannot make today’s workshop there will be a second ‘Sewing Workshop with Mary’ on Thursday 4 April from 1:30pm to 4:30pm at Westside Library, Galway. Please note the sewing workshops are suitable for adults only.
Booking is essential for both workshops as spaces are limited, please phone the museum on 091 532460 to book your place or to find out more. Galway City Museum is located beside the Spanish Arch and opens Tuesday to Saturday 10am to 5pm. Admission is always free.
