New pricing and spec for Mitsubishi Outlander hybrid

Mitsubishi Motors Ireland's new Outlander plug-in hybrid EV is now available in three specifications, Intense, Instyle and S-Edition, from Rochford Motors, Ballyhaunis.

With up to 20 per cent reduction in price from previous Outlander PHE, the entry level Intense model starts from €39,900, Instyle from €43,900 and S-Edition from €47,500* (including VRT reduction and SEAI grant for private customers ).

It is one of the first plug-in hybrid EVs to have confirmed Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP ) rating of 46g/km (a change of 5g/km from NEDC protocol ) in Tax Band A1.

The new Outlander plug-in hybrid EV 4WD SUV comes with a high level of technology for all round safety, EV technology, driver focused technology, as well as enhanced exterior design and high quality, refined interior.

Having achieved a five-star NCAP rating, the Outlander PHEV incorporates safety equipment including seven airbags (front, side and curtain ) and three ISO-FIX child seat anchors, ABS with EBD and brake assist, active stability and traction control. It also features Mitsubishi’s renowned super all-wheel control (S-AWC ) with Normal, Snow, Lock And Sport Mode, all underpinned by Mitsubishi’s reinforced impact safety evolution body.

The Instyle and S-Edition models are equipped with forward collision mitigation system, providing a visible and audible warning if a collision risk has been identified, escalating to autonomous braking if a high risk of collision has been determined, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning and automatic high beams. Adding to this level of advanced driver assistance systems, the S-Edition also includes blind spot warning with lane change assist, rear cross traffic alert and Ultrasonic Misacceleration System (in case the driver mistakenly presses the accelerator when stationary or driving at low speeds ).

The PHEV operating system on all specifications includes EV priority mode that allows the driver to run the PHEV on electric mode only for up to 45km, battery save mode and battery charge modes. All models are supplied with Mode 2 and Mode 3 charging cables for home and public charging, as well as quick charger ports.

Mitsubishi says its battery can be charged for as little as €1.381.

The new OUTLANDER PHEV can be viewed and test driven at Rochford Motors, Ballyhaunis, Co Mayo, with finance rates from 1.9per cent APR. Less than one hour from Galway city and 20 minutes from Tuam, Rochford Motors also has the full Mitsubishi range on display, including SpaceStar, ASX, Eclipse Cross, Outlander 7 Seat Diesel, Outlander Commercial and L200 pickup.
