Sofa retailer DFS expands to Connaught

New Store opening in Galway this Saturday 23rd of March

Sofa manufacturer and retailer DFS is to open a new store this Saturday 23rd of March, in the Well Park Retail Park on the Dublin Road, creating ten new jobs in a stunning space brimming with design inspiration and amazing value.

The opening weekend will be a fun-filled family event with some great DFS hospitality. On Saturday the 23rd, between 12.00 and 2.00, hurling legend Joe Canning will be taking time out of his busy schedule to help open the city’s first branch of DFS. He will be happy to pose for selfies and sign autographs and looks forward to meeting as many fans as possible.

On Sunday from 11.00 to 4.00, Connaught’s highly sought-after design team, House Edit Interior Designers Claire Price and Elaine Regan will be instore and available for complimentary one-on-one design consultations. The House Edit duo were recently shortlisted in the prestigious Amara Interior Awards and have featured in the Irish Independent, Irish Mail on Sunday, Irish Times and Today FM. They invite you to bring instore house plans, photos of your home or a specific room, and they will be happy to offer their expertise and guidance to help you create the perfect look.

DFS is very proud to support the Galway Hospice over its opening weekend and all visitors will be invited to take place in a charity raffle to support the great work of the hospice. We have three stunning prizes available – a €1000-euro voucher for DFS, a House Edit Premium E-Consultation Package, which is a full design scheme for one room in your home to the value of €495, and a Galway jersey signed by the team from Joe Canning.

Ireland Manager, John Kelly, whose family originally hail from Mayo, says he is “proud to bring DFS to Connaught” adding that “with five decades of upholstery expertise, the new store will offer customers a large selection of sofas and chairs all hand made to order.”

“DFS is thrilled to be investing further in Ireland, bringing the number of stores on the island to seven. To date, Irish consumers have responded well to the DFS in-store experience and the expertise that our DFS sales teams can offer as sofa experts, to help them find their perfect choice.”

The store in Galway will provide the largest range of sofas in the city, chosen to suit all styles and budgets and showcased in stunning roomsets. DFS is confident that Galway will be a terrific location and that the new store will be a great addition to the local retail landscape.
