A DISTINCTLY left-field musician is coming to Galway to celebrate Piano Day, which falls on Friday March 29, and play a kind of piano, the like of which has never been seen in the city.
Sarah Nicolls and her 'Inside out Piano', will make their Galway debut in The Mick Lally Theatre. She will give a performance of a new work- an eco recital - which takes its inspiration from the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC ) report of October 2018, and the claim that "we have 12 years to save the planet".
Nicolls, described by The Guardian as "a genuinely 'edgy Brit', and what she does should be happening every week of the year", has given many world premieres with the London Sinfonietta and broadcasts regularly on BBC Radio 3. From 2005 to 2016 she was a senior lecturer at Brunel University.
