Slyrydes launch 'Mental Health' single with Róisín Dubh gig

Galway band declared 'pertinent', 'urgent', and 'brilliant' by Undertones/Today FM's Paul McLoone

SLYRYDES HAVE been called "pertinent", "urgent", and "brilliant" by Today FM's Paul McLoone, while Nialler9 said of their songs: “Listen to this when you’re really angry”.

Galway will see why when Slyrydes officially launch their debut single, 'Mental Health', with a gig at the Róisín Dubh on Saturday March 23 at 9pm. The single has already attracted some acclaim - McLoone's enthusiastic endorsement of the band was prompted by this sng, while The Thin Air declared it "a potent and necessary first offering from the quartet...vital music from a band we’re sure are destined for big things in 2019 and beyond.”

Slyrydes - Marc O'Reachtaire (lead vocals/guitar ), Mark Comer (lead guitar/backing vocals ), Fuz Reilly (bass ), and Paul Clarke (drums ) - were formed in Galway, inspired by a mutual love of punk and new wave, and as a "reaction to what we saw as a lot of really bland music filling the airwaves". They describe 'Mental Health' as a "frank take on the shambolic Irish Health Service”.
