AFTER FIVE competitive heats over the last few weeks, the grand final of Show Me The Funny takes place on Monday, February 19, at The King's Head Bar on High Street.
Twelve comedians will battle it out, under the watchful eye of host and MC Gerry Mallon, each hoping to win a much coveted slot at the comedy tent at this year's Electric Picnic, plus two VIP weekend tickets for the event.
"The standard this year has been phenomenal," says Gerry. "It's going to be a great night for performers and the audience, but maybe not so for the three judges, who will have a tough job on their hands, trying to pick winners from the array of top talent on display. Some of these rookies already have big gigs in the pipeline on the circuit and are destined to become household names."
The 12 finalists are, Aideen Mulqueen, Cathal Shanagher, Dave Sullivan, Dakota Mick, Amy Walsh, Duane Dougan, Gordo Brennan, Neil Ferriter, David Gilna, Jack Hourigan, Mark O'Keefe, and Mustafa Saed. Tickets are €5 and available at the door which opens at 8pm.
