Sebastian Barry's On Blueberry Hill

Fishamble brings revival of Barry's 2017 play to the Town Hall Theatre

"I FOUND my thrill, on Blueberry Hill, on Blueberry Hill, when I found you," sang Fats Domino on his classic 1956 hit, and this has song inspired the title of Sebastian Barry's 2017 play which is being revived and toured by Fishamble: The New Play Company.

Sebastian Barry is one of Ireland's finest and most acclaimed novelists, best known for such works as On Canaan's Side, The Secret Scripture, A Long Long Way, The Temporary Gentleman, and Days Without End. He has also written numerous plays, the best known of which is 1995's The Steward of Christendom.

On Blueberry Hill is his most recent play and was premiered by Fishamble at the Dublin Theatre Festival 2017. It is now going on tour and comes to the Town Hall Theatre on Monday February 18 at 8pm. It stars Niall Buggy and David Ganly and is directed by Jim Culleton.

Like turtle doves – In prison, I mean, for f**k’s sake, the chances of that.”
