ARMED WITH a tiny keyboard and a seemingly endless supply of one-liners - mostly hilarious, others very deliberately, knowingly, groan inducing - Sean Hegarty is coming back to the Róisín Dubh.
The Lurgan based comedian, who reached the semi-final of Ireland's Got Talent, and recently won Ireland's Funniest Joke, headlines the Comedy KARLnival on Tuesday February 19. He has amassed more than 30 million views online, attracted more than 70,000 fans on social media, and has enjoyed sold-out shows around the country. He also played a starring role in hit BBC comedy series Late Licence writing and acting alongside his wife, Derry Girls actor, Diona Doherty.
Speaking of Derry Girls, Diona Doherty, who played Katya in the series, will also perform on the night. Her dry wit and dark sense of humour has been seen at the Edinburgh fringe, and she has appeared in Soft Border Patrol and Give My Head Peace.
Support is from Show Me the Funny 2019 finalist Amy Walsh. The MC is Karl Spain. Doors are at 8pm. Tickets are €6 in advance from Róisín Dubh; www.roisindubh.net; or OMG@Zhivago, Shop Street, or €8 at the door.
