Tom Portman to play Kinvara

Guitarist's music fuses blues, folk, swing, classical, Asian, and trad

TOM PORTMAN, the acclaimed guitarist, whose music fuses blues, folk, swing, classical, Asian, and trad, will play The Courthouse, Kinvara, tomorrow at 8pm.

Portman, a multi-instrumentalist, performer, composer, and songwriter, plays the acoustic/electric guitar and Dobro. He has released four albums. Carl Corcoran, presenter of RTÉ radio's Blue Of The Night, said of him: "If it has strings, Portman can play them. Not only play them but bend them, scratch them, shape 'em and mould them into a collage of beauty...’ ‘a melting pot of Americana, Irish trad, world and the magical.
