STEVE BENNETT, the bearded wonder, the ukulele wielding comic, and the first winner of the Irish Comedian of the Year award, headlines the next Comedy KARLnival at the Róisín Dubh.
Bennett is one of Ireland’s most exciting comedic talents. A charismatic and energetic presence, Bennett blends charming wit, musical comedy, and sharp observation. Fresh from a packed out run at Edinburgh fringe festival, Perth, Adelaide, and Melbourne comedy festivals and every Irish festival and comedy show you could point a stick at, he headlines the KARLnival on Tuesday February 5.
As Chortle.co.uk said of his comedy: "A feel-good experience is guaranteed", while The West Australian declared Bennett a "fabulous storyteller...side-splittingly funny".
Also on the bill is from Tom O'Mahony, who came to prominence as the intolerable toff Tarquin on Damo & Ivor. His material delves into everything from his life as an MMA fighter to the pure savagery of being a panto dame. One of the busiest Irish acts on the circuit, he has played major festivals and clubs here and has supported Tom Green and Mock The Week's Tom Stade.
Support is from Katelyn Galvin. The MC is Karl Spain. Tickets are €6 in advance from the Róisín Dubh; www.roisindubh.net; or OMG@Zhivago, Shop Street; or €8 at door. Doors are at 8pm.
