Burglary on Monivea Road

A home in Monivea Road was also burgled on Friday January 18. Two men forced the front door of the house. A young woman was assaulted as the men escaped. An elderly woman was also in the house at the time.

This incident happened between 7.35pm and 7.50pm. Anyone who saw two suspicious men on or near the Monivea Road last Friday should contact Galway Garda Station at 091 538000.

Burglary in Shantalla

Gardai are investigating an attempted break-in at a home in Shantalla on Friday January 18, just before 5pm. The culprit tried to get in, damaging the front door, but was disturbed by the home owner.

Anyone who saw unusual behaviour in the area, or a possible culprit flee the scene, is asked to contact Galway Garda Station at 091 538000.

Burglary in Bohermore

A house in St Finbarr’s Terrace, Bohermore, was broken into and damaged on Friday January 18.

Car damaged in Loughrea

A car parked in the Carraig Alainn estate in Loughrea was extensively damaged the early hours of Tuesday January 15. The windscreen and back windows of the black BMW were broken while it was parked. This happened between 2am and 4am. Anyone with information is asked to contact Loughrea Garda Station at 091 842870.

Car damaged in Eyre Street

A parked car was damaged in Eyre Street in the city centre at about midnight on the night of Friday January 18. Two men smashed the windscreen of the black VW Polo and fled the scene. Anyone with information is asked to contact Galway Garda Station at 091 538000.

Theft from parked car

Gardai are appealing for information on the theft of two magnetic business signs from a car in Gort at the weekend.

The theft occurred between 6pm and 8pm on Saturday while the white Opel Zafira was parked in Gort na Ri. Anyone with information on the theft or on the signs is asked to contact Gort Garda Station at 091 636400.

Fencing stolen in Craughwell

A quantity of security fencing was stolen from a site at Killora, Craughwell, at the weekend.

This theft occurred at some point between the afternoon of Friday January 18 and Monday morning, January 21. Twenty 6ftx11ft silver galvanised Harris security fencing, along with 20 holding blocks and 20 clamps, were taken from an OPW site at Killora, Craughwell, on the Ardrahan road, near the mini roundabout past Craughwell train station.

Car stolen from Salthill

A white Hyundai Tucson SUV was stolen from outside a house at Emerson Avenue in Salthill last week.

This incident took place on Monday January 14 at 3.20pm. The registration number of the vehicle is 171 G 2254. Anyone with information is asked to contact Salthill Garda Station on 091 514720.
