Over The Edge to celebrate 16th birthday

Tim Cumming, Sarah Padden, Jonathan Harper, and Skylight 47 contributors.

OVER THE Edge will celebrate its 16th birthday this month at the Galway City Library, with readings from the poets Tim Cumming and Sarah Padden, along with Jonathan Harper, and the Skylight 47 contributors.

Tim Cumming’s first collection, The Miniature Estate was published in 1991. His subsequent books include Apocalypso, Contact Print, The Rumour, The Rapture, Etruscan Miniatures, and Rebel Angels In The Mind Shop. He has made a series of acclaimed film poems and exhibited poems and paintings at Sladers Yard gallery in Dorset, and wrote and narrated the acclaimed Hawkwind: Do Not Panic BBC documentary.

Yorkshire-Irish Sarah Padden has had poems published in Skylight 47, ROPES, A New Ulster, and Freehand. She won the June 2017 Galway Poetry Slam and was shortlisted for both the Over The Edge New Writer of the Year 2017 competition and the Poems for Patience Competition 2018.

Jonathan Harper works as an engineer. His writing influences are JK Rowling and Jim Crace. He is currently working on a novel. There will also be the launch of of issue 11 of poetry magazine Skylight 47, followed by a reading from its contributors. This will be followed by a open mic section.

Over The Edge takes place on Thursday January 24 at 6.30pm. The MC will be Susan Millar DuMars. Admission is free and all are welcome.
