The Curly Organ's Monday night shows

Two gigs from My Fellow Sponges' Donal McConnon

“A CURLY Organ show is like an encounter with a modern day wild eyed ancient prophet man. He stands out as a genuine artist, a lone voice in the wilderness growing a cult following.”

So said Citóg's David Boland (aka singer-songwriter New Pope ) about the solo project of My Fellow Sponges' Donal McConnon, and McConnon is performing a number of shows around Galway city this month as The Curly Organ.

The Curly Organ plays The Black Gate Cultural Centre, St Francis Street (Monday January 21 ) and the upstairs bar of the Róisín Dubh, Dominick Street (Monday January 28 ). Each show promises to be a "unique experience with specially crafted material from the artist", along with spontaneous improvisation and special guests. As David Boland also said: “He has come in from the desert, clothed in truth and a woolly jumper. His insights into the human condition, his dedication to his craft and the purity of his performance are astounding."

Doors for both shows are 8.30pm. Admission is €3.
