20 Shades of Pencil Grey

Exhibition of drawings by Jim Ward at the Renzo Café

20 SHADES Of Pencil Grey, an exhibition of pen and ink drawings by the Galway artist and writer Jim Ward, is currently running at the Renzo Café and Gallery on Eyre Street.

From Galway, Jim Ward is a playwright and cartoonist whose work has appeared in the 2018 Galway Cartoon Festival, the exhibition 1916 by Local Artists, and is also on display in Charlie Byrne's bookshop and in Club Áras na nGael. He has published poetry and short stories in Irish and English while his award-winning play, Just Guff, was recently performed at the Town Hall Studio and will tour County Galway the month.

.

Speaking about the exhibition, Jim said: "The work consists of original pencil, pen, and ink drawings, many of literary characters or scenes from literature. I am inspired by great quality sketches and cartoons. Literature and history offer a broad canvas from which inspiration for art has always happened."

20 Shades of Pencil Grey runs until February 11.
