'REALLY GONE', the song Ultan Conlon recorded with John Conneely, and to which the legendary singer-songwriter John Martyn contributed vocals, has been re-recorded and is to be re-released.
John Martyn was very fond of the song ‘Really Gone’ and recorded it in 2004 when he lived in Thomastown, County Kilkenny. John heard the song at a local pub session when it was performed by the visiting Galway musician Ultan Conlon.
In recent weeks British producer Philip Tennant has worked with Ultan to re-arrange and re-record ‘Really Gone’. It was mixed in Nashville by the Grammy Award winning engineer Collin Dupuis who has produced Dr John and The Black Keys. It is currently on the RTÉ Radio 1 'Recommends' list. Ultan - who is the Galway Advertiser Galway Solo Artist of the Year 2018 - is working on an EP which will include ‘Really Gone’ and a cover of John Martyn's ‘Fisherman’s Dream’.
