THEIR MUSIC has been described as having "irresistible, revolutionary energy" by The Irish Times, while the Irish Examiner called their songs "streetwise, fast moving, clever…full of superb moments".

They are Moxie, the Sligo 'neo-trad' band, who play Strange Brew at the Róisín Dubh on Thursday December 27 at 9pm. The band's - Cillian Doheny (banjo/guitars ), Jos Kelly and Darren Roche (button accordions/keyboards ), Ted Kelly (banjo/guitar ), and Josh Sampson (drums ) - fresh approach sees them inject jazz, house, electro, and rock into their take on Irish trad.

It is a style which has attracted much acclaim, with Lunasa's Kevin Crawford declaring: "Moxie’s unique approach is both melodically and rhythmically addictive; surprises lurk around every corner in the form of instrument and metre changes combined with intelligent and well executed arrangements. I’m very excited by the music Moxie are making and look forward to hearing a lot more from them in the years to come."
