HAMSANDWICH BRING a successful 2018 to a close with the release of their new single 'Reactions', and a tour of Ireland which takes in Galway's Róisín Dubh next week.
Following a quiet period, the long running, Irish indie rock institution of HamsandwicH played triumphant sets at this year's Electric Picnic and the IndiePendence Festival. 'Reactions', produced by Karl Odlum, has been described by Podge SandwicH as "a very short zippy little verse chorus demo we reworked into a three part piece".
"There are lots of new areas and influences covered from a choppy verse vocal to more unconventional odd harmonies based around a simple hook," says Podge. "The song has very different rhythms which we battled and hopefully managed to blend together. One big influence from the off was Prince as it was written around the time he passed away. Hopefully it’s a track the man himself would dig.”
D’Arcy SandwicH sees 'Reactions' as "continuing down the path we took" with their previous single 'Bodies'. "We are excited to be writing in new territory and think the live shows will benefit hugely by the new music. It’s going to be even better. We can’t wait for this December tour! It’s different stuff but we’re excited to hear what people think."
HamsandwicH play the Róisín Dubh on Friday December 28 at 8pm. Tickets are available from www.roisindubh.net; the Ticket Desk at OMG@Zhivago, Shop Street; and The Róisín Dubh.
